559-662-3820nagomez@mcsos.orgIn my current role as the Coordinator of Early Learning Support Services I advocate for high quality care for young children by encouraging providers to return to school to obtain their degrees in Child Development/Early Childhood Education. I also provide opportunities for providers to participate in professional development workshops and trainings through the CARES Plus program.

In addition, I am the coordinator of Madera County’s LPC. In my role as coordinator for the LPC I do the LPC reporting; run the AB 212 and CTKS programs.

One of our current LPC goals is to become more visible in the community and educate the community about our functions and goals. To move towards this goal we held a screening event for The Raising of America. There was a guided discussion immediately following the screening. This was an opportunity to help create an awareness of the LPC and our mission and vision. I also presented a PowerPoint to discuss the history and functions of the LPC to Madera County Board of Supervisors and audience members. Each year our LPC board members plan to attend and present at the BOS meetings to help become more visible in the community.
